Recent Progress of Low and Medium-Carbon Advanced Martensitic Steels

چکیده

This article introduces the microstructural and mechanical properties of low medium-carbon advanced martensitic steels (AMSs) subjected to heat-treatment, hot- warm- working, and/or case-hardening processes. The AMSs developed for sheet wire rod products have a tensile strength higher than 1.5 GPa, good cold-formability, superior toughness fatigue strength, delayed fracture due mixture martensite retained austenite, compared with conventional steels. In addition, warm-stamping forging contribute enhance grain refining improvement austenite characteristics. process (fine particle peening vacuum carburization) is effective further increase strength.

Recent progress of R&D activities on reduced activation ferritic/martensitic steels

Several types of reduced activation ferritic/martensitic (RAFM) steel have been developed over the past 30 years in China, Europe, India, Japan, Russia and the USA for application in ITER test blanket modules (TBMs) and future fusion DEMO and power reactors. The progress has been particularly important during the past few years with evaluation of mechanical properties of these steels before and...

comparison between scc behavior of 420 martensitic and 316l low carbon austenitic stainless steels

behaviors of stress corrosion cracking (scc)in martensitic stainless steel(aisi 420) and low carbon austenitic stainless steel (aisi 316l) have been compared under different conditions of temperature, environment (mgcl2), and strain rate. the results show that decreasing strain rate has detrimental effect on mechanical properties of both steels, including their strength and ductility. fractogra...

Analysis of Abrasive Wear Characterization and its Correlation with Structure for Low and Medium Carbon Steels

In most of the engineering applications, such as mining, metallurgy, agriculture; equipments are failed by the abrasive wear. The data as obtained form ministry of Research and Technology indicates that the percentage cost of abrasive wear in federal republic of German in metallurgy industry is 40%, mining industry 30%, agriculture 20% and production engineering 10%, and so the material selecti...

Microstructure and cleavage in lath martensitic steels

In this paper we discuss the microstructure of lath martensitic steels and the mechanisms by which it controls cleavage fracture. The specific experimental example is a 9Ni (9 wt% Ni) steel annealed to have a large prior austenite grain size, then examined and tested in the as-quenched condition to produce a relatively coarse lath martensite. The microstructure is shown to approximate the recen...
